Background and Education
Dr. Gayla Bivens is a native of Gastonia, North Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from North Carolina Central University and attended dental school at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry.
Driven by a lifelong passion for working with children, is what brought this general dentist into pediatric setting 21 years ago. Dr. Gayla has dedicated her career to making dental visits less intimidating for both young patients and their parents.
Dr. Gayla aims to work with patients and parents as a team for healthy dental experience both in the office and at home.
Her educational approach equips parents with the knowledge and emotional support to introduce healthy dental habits at an early age.
Dr. Gayla’s commitment to children’s well-being extends beyond the dental office into her personal endeavors. As a Lifetime Girl Scout member, she actively serves as a troop leader.
A few of her favorite things include watching football, attending musicals, singing, dancing, exploring new restaurants and all things Disney, but she especially loves being a mother to her daughter Nyla.
Dr. Gayla values family deeply and extends that sense of belonging throughout the dental office, treating both staff and patients with warmth. After visiting Dr. Gayla, you’ll likely leave feeling as though your family has grown by one.
Dr. Gayla is an active member of the NC Dental Society, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American General Dentistry and All Star Dental Academy Titanium Mastermind.
